through holistic treatment by integrated, personalized therapy and mental health care.
At VSTS, we believe that true, long-term recovery is possible when we address the root causes of substance use. Founded in September 2023 by a dedicated behavioral health professional and a medical doctor specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment, our organization was built to bridge the gap between Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Our Mission is to help individuals overcome SUD through compassionate, trauma-informed care. Our focus is on healing the whole person—body and mind—by addressing past experiences and guiding individuals to reconnect. We believe the combination of trauma-focused therapy, somatic practices, resources and skills needed is the key to sustainable recovery and emotional well-being.
‘Education = Awareness’
“Plant the seed. It may give you fruit in a year. It may give you fruit in 10 years. Inevitably you will get fruit. My work is to plant the seed. Once you have awareness, you can’t go back!”
– Samar
We don’t rely solely on process groups; instead, each session incorporates practical skills to help manage cravings and interrupt negative thought patterns. Through a somatic lens, we teach techniques for calming the body, reducing stress, and cultivating the resilience needed to navigate daily life.
At VSTS, we limit group sizes to fostering a deeper connection, individualized attention, and a supportive environment that honors our client’s unique healing journey. We believe gender-specific groups foster different perspectives and address gender-specific needs during trauma therapy.
Led by CEO and Clinical Director, Samar Tehrani, our staff includes clinical professionals and peer recovery specialists (PRS). With both Spanish and Farsi speakers, we strive to make services accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds. We offer EMDR by a certified clinician, providing specialized trauma therapy.

Our foundational program emphasizes small, focused groups and trauma-informed practices.

We combine FDA-approved medications (e.g., Suboxone, Buprenorphine) with therapeutic support.

Addressing unresolved trauma can be a critical component of successful recovery.
We address not just the symptoms of addiction but also the underlying emotional and physical factors that can fuel substance use.
Every interaction is rooted in empathy, respect, and confidentiality. We offer a judgment-free space where you can heal at your own pace.
Our program equips you with tangible strategies—like somatic grounding and coping techniques—that support sobriety in everyday situations.
We remain dedicated to expanding and refining our services to stay aligned with evidence-based best practices in SUD treatment.
